MPs Reviewed the National Anti-Corruption Report
The National Report of the Anti-Corruption Agency on the fight against corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan has been reviewed at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
Providing the information, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov said that the state policy to combat corruption, carried out in recent years on the initiative of the head of Uzbekistan, is important in that it concerns not the consequences of corruption, but measures to prevent it. In particular, a rating assessment of the effectiveness of anti-corruption activities of government bodies and organizations and the Openness Index of government bodies and organizations have been introduced. Internal anti-corruption control units started operating in 89 ministries and departments.
During the meeting, the implementation of the principle of introducing the integrity vaccine in the public service, the anti-corruption expertise of regulatory legal acts and their projects, the implementation of the Corruption-Free Area Projects and other preventive mechanisms were discussed, as well as existing problems and shortcomings associated with corruption.
Based on the information presented, the tasks to be implemented in the fight against corruption were discussed, and a number of proposals to combat corruption and prevent it, put forward in the National Report, were also considered.
The MPs made proposals and recommendations for a comprehensive analysis of the results of the investigation of corruption crimes that damage the national interests and international image of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the expenditure of budget funds, the sale of state property, the effectiveness of control over the legality of decisions of executive authorities and economic management bodies and their officials.
The National Anti-Corruption Report presented by the Anti-Corruption Agency was taken into consideration.
