IMF Mission Briefed on Latest Developments in Uzbekistan's Anti-Corruption Policy

The leadership of the Anti-Corruption Agency received a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Yasser Abdih.

During the meeting, the Director of the Agency, Akmal Burkhanov, briefed the delegation on the latest innovations and transformations in Uzbekistan's anti-corruption sector. In particular, the discussions focused on the Presidential Decree No. UP-270, adopted on December 30, 2025, which outlines the priority directions of the anti-corruption policy through 2030, including ongoing reforms in digitalization and transparency.

It was emphasized that institutional mechanisms have been significantly strengthened, and the Agency's powers have been expanded. The National Standard for Anti-Corruption Management Systems, the Anti-Corruption Prevention Cluster, and modern compliance control mechanisms are currently being implemented.

Furthermore, data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are being extensively utilized in the field of public procurement. The delegation expressed particular interest in the operations of the "Digital Compliance" and "E-qaror" systems.

The meeting also addressed the introduction of income declarations, the enhancement of the legal framework for the protection of whistleblowers, and measures to improve Uzbekistan's standing in international rankings.

The representatives of the international organization highly commended the consistent and resolute reforms implemented in a short period to improve anti-corruption policy and expressed their readiness to support these efforts. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further develop cooperation and maintain an ongoing dialogue in the fight against corruption.
