The Government of Uzbekistan will attract a USD 200 mln concessional loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to finance a project to develop the country’s horticulture value chain.

Loans to financial institutions participating in the project will be provided in Uzbek soums.

Expenses caused by fluctuations in the exchange rate of the Uzbek soum against the US dollar will be covered by the state budget.

Loans will be allocated to project initiators at the rate of the Central Bank.

The project will be implemented in all regions of the country and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The Anti-Corruption Agency will establish permanent control over ensuring openness and transparency of targeted spending of funds allocated under the project.
